For information about the survey and analysis methods see "Fall 1998 Survey of Baccalaureate Alumni and Fall 1998 Employer Survey: Introduction, Methods, and Alumni Demographic Profile." Exact question wording is available on the web.
The number of baccalaureate alumni responding from each year varies little. As noted in the introductory report on the survey's methods, both the actual number of respondents and the response rate effects the margin of error of the results reported. All response rates and margins of error are based on the number of survey respondents compared to the number in the sample. Table 1 below provides information on the number and proportion of alumni responding to the survey from each year, as well as the response rate and margin of error for the year. The margin of error in results reported for individual years in the Fall 1998 Survey of Baccalaureate Alumni range only from +1.8 percent to +1.9 percent.
