administrators) Compliance Explanation A review of the qualifications and experience of the chancellor, provost, vice chancellors, and college deans was conducted and a short summary of each was compiled to demonstrate the breadth and depth of background of NC State University’s leadership. In addition, current employment information and educational backgrounds for the senior administrative and academic officers (SAAO) was assembled. According to the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina (BOG), the SAAO include (1) vice chancellors, provosts, deans, and directors of major educational and public service activities (July 7, 1990); (2) associate and assistant vice chancellors and associate and assistant deans (October 12, 1990); and (3) “specific positions as may be designated by the President, subject to confirmation by the Board” (October 12, 1990).
