Explanation
NC State University has been in continuous operation since 1887.  Today, the university educates almost 30,000 students.  26,000 of them are enrolled in 8 associate’s programs, 100 baccalaureate programs, 106 master’s programs and 59 doctoral programs, plus a doctorate in veterinary medicine.

An additional 3,600 non-degree-seeking students enroll in courses as lifelong learners without matriculating into degree programs.
