DEGREES CONFERRED 2000-2001 -- NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY

This report on the 2000-2001 Degrees Conferred at North Carolina State University includes information summarized from the 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 Graduated Student Data Files(SDF) submitted to UNC-General Administration (UNC-GA). Semesters included are Summer 1 and Summer 2, 2000, with degrees conferred in August, Fall 2000, with graduation in December, and Spring 2001, with graduation in May.

The Graduated SDF is prepared each year by Institutional Strategy and Analysis from the Graduation Master File (also known as the "mouse" file) that is a part of the Registration and Records Student Systems.

Tables under Colleges and all tables by Department as well as Degrees by College, Residence, Ethnicity, and Gender describe degrees conferred by various breakdowns. Degrees conferred includes dual degrees earned by some students; this year there were 488 dual degrees awarded. The table By Headcount, Counting only Highest Degree if Dual Degrees collapses the dual degrees to a count of degree recipients by only counting the highest degree awarded to that person. For example, an individual earning two degrees, one a Bachelors degree, and one a DVM degree, would count twice in all tables listed above and would only count once in table By Headcount, Counting only Highest Degree if Dual Degrees (the DVM degree would be counted).

Each table is contained in a separate file. Select the table(s) you want to view or print by clicking on the link(s) in the table of contents. For table 3 (By Department and Curriculum) and table 5 (By Department, Degree, Ethnicity, Gender), separate files have been created for each college.
